January 8: First official meeting of the SW Connecticut Chapter.
February 13: The chapter discussed developing community relationships with area SCA survivors and the medical community with electrophysiologist Dr. Eric Grubman.
March 11: Norwich Bulletin published an article about the death of a boy from SCA. Sherri Hopkins is quoted in the article that discussed how the boy could've been saved by an AED, if one were nearby.
March 13: Sherri Hopkins gave a testimony to support AED placement in public places and state support of AED programs.
March 24: Nurse.com ran an article about the launch of the SW Connecticut Chapter.
March 25: Sherri Hopkins spoke about clinically induced hypthermia at a dinner at the Academy of Critical Care Nurses, she also spoke about the chapter and handed out Saving Lives in Schools brochures.
April 4: The chapter conducted a CPR and AED review with Naugatuck seniors.
May 3: At the Crowne Plaze in Southbury, Sherri Hopkins and Lisa Herchenroether recognized as 2008 medical heroes for placement of AEDs in Naugatuck Public Schools during an American Red Cross Heroes Gala.
May 17: The chapter trained 4th grade studens in CPR and AED use, Friends and Family courses. The studeents took F&F kits home for further education with family and friends.

June 13: Taught radio hosts CPR and AED tactics on-air using mannequins on WPLR 99.1 FM.
June 23: The Norwich Bulletin published an article about students raising funds for a defibrillator after a classmate died from SCA. Sherri Hopkins is highlighted, teaching students CPR and AED use.
July 16: The chapter met to discuss chapter goals, which is to educate high school students in CPR and AED use.
July 22: Chapter members attended a Public Health Department meeting with Office of Emergency Medical Services regarding AEDs in schools.
August 14: Discussed with Hartford Board of Education regarding AED public policy.
August 28: Discussed with Hartford Board of Education regarding AED public policy.
August 29: Chapter met with Naugatuck District School nurses about their AED policy.
September 18: Chapter members met with Naugatuck Borad of Education to discuss CPR and AED education among teachers, administrators, and studends in the district.
October 16: The chapter met to discuss implementation of chapter goals.
November 17: Chapter representatives taught CPR and AED certificaton to Naugatuck school administration.
November 19: Lisa Herchenroether gave a presentation at Central Connecticut State University about CPR, AEDs, and sudden cardiac arrest.
December 15: Lisa Herchenroether assisted the installation of a new AED in Cross Street Elementary.
December 19: The chapter discussed the possibility of merging with the Hospital of St. Raphael to enhance community access of info about SCA.
